Sanyam Shrivastava, The Founder and MD of the Club

From the directory of S.T.A.R. Astronomy Club,
Sanyam Shrivastava, was born in Bhopal. He's an experience of more than a decade in the field of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
He completed his secondary school education from the St. Joseph's Co-ed School, Bhopal. He further pursued Engineering in the branch of Mechanics from the UIT, Bhopal. Post Engineering, he curtailed his Astronomical works much, and also joined in as a pursuant of Governance in governmental administration.
His Astronomical works began in the primary school itself. He's never been outstanding with academics, but had immense knowledge of practicality. He served as a volunteer for an interim phase in a local project Amit Smriti. He's bound to leave the association because of some criticism regarding the association from inbound members. He discontinued Astronomical works for a short span. After a gap of moderate phase, he established the Sky Trackers and Astronomy Researchers club, in the aftermath of then International Year of Astronomy 2009. Mr Vitthal who used to work in the Regional Science center, Bhopal, became a major inspiration for Mr Shrivastava for starting the endeavor. He worked extensively and inexhaustibly for the promotion of basic science and Astronomy. His works culminated the fruit, when his works were given the testimony by one of the most eminent Scientist on "High Energy radiation from Black Holes", Mr Charles Dermer. Pursuing the stream, the Government of Madhya Pradesh and one of the biggest media group, DB Corp, came out in shear support and appreciation. The Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology invited Mr Shrivastava to host a number of Astronomical events in and around Bhopal. He has worked incessantly ever since. Some of his works are mentioned herein :-


  • Lectures on Astronomy and some certain workshops with the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal and MPCST.
  • Amidst the year 2009-11, he worked on some minor Astronomy promoting events of NASA like CSFAD and After-School Astronomy with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as a project coordinator abroad.
  • He worked with the International Observe the Moon-night campaign and Astronomy TV podcast, and did live-streaming of a number of Solar eclipses from Madhya Pradesh.
  • He established the largest Social media group of Astronomy on facebook in the year 2009, that grew to encompass more than  1 Million members. He's helped in the endeavor with International Astronomers from NASA and national enthusiasts from Jyotirvidya Parisanstha.
  • He worked with one of the biggest Astronomical magazine, called "Sky and Telescope". The work was restricted on behalf of the Sky Trackers and Astronomy Researchers club.
  • He's perhaps the only person who worked with commercialized ventures for the promotion of Astronomy. The S.T.A.R Astronomy club collaborated with the Sayaji and the Welcome Heritage group.
  • He worked for a short tenure in the erstwhile High energy gamma ray observatory, of TIFR, at Pachmarhi.
  • He delivered lectures in more than a hundred school and colleges.
  • He organised Astronomical events for Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB), Bhopal, and also worked for the promotion in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
